Comprehensive Review
We review your transcript (courses and grades), standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, talents, and courses that you are currently taking, as well as the courses that you plan to take in the following year(s).
Building a College List
We work with students to create a personalized list of colleges — the right fits for individual needs, interests, and qualifications — and give you an honest assessment of your chances of getting in.
Completing Applications
We will help you discover and share the story that is uniquely yours and highlight who you are and what you have accomplished. We will assist you in coordinating application materials and completing all applications. We clarify application instructions, review forms, and provide guidance on all questions/items.
Essays/Personal Statements
The college essay doesn't have to be scary! It's the one part of your application of which you have complete control. We work with you to brainstorm essay topics that help introduce you to the admissions reader while writing in your own "voice."
Student Activity Sheet/Resume
The student activity sheet or resume is an important part of the application. Everything that you do is part of your story and we will help you describe your activities to reflect your efforts and achievements.
Standardized Testing Strategy
Whether you are a high school freshman, a high school senior or potential college transfer, we will advise you on which standardized tests to take or re-take or skip altogether!
Letters of Recommendation
We advise you on how to get teachers, counselors, and extracurricular supervisors to write supportive letters of recommendation. We discuss from whom you should solicit letters; how and when to make requests; as well as how you can help writers to more effectively communicate your genuine strengths and interests.
Campus Visits
Campus visits demonstrate interest to an admissions committee and allow you to become better acquainted with the offerings of a particular institution. We will help you plan and make the most of your campus visits.
The College Interview
The college interview can be an important factor in the college admissions process. We teach you how to prepare, what questions to expect, and what questions to ask.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Scholarships and other financial aid for college are not limited to students with financial need. Regardless of your financial circumstances, we provide advice on which school offer merit aid and other sources of need and non need based financial assistance.
Decision and Wait List Guidance
After receiving your admission offers, we meet with you to review the costs and benefits of attending each institution of which you have been admitted.
Gap Year Advising
For those students interested in taking a gap year before college, we help students navigate the wonderful variety of gap year options.
